It's Officially Official
Finally, after three months of being in escrow, we are the proud owners of our first home in Napa Valley. There is a lot of work to be done. After a weekend of literal blood, sweat, and tears, about 67 trips to home depot, and much help from great friends and my sweet parents we are well on our way. First things first, completely gutting and redoing this hideously ugly, dry-rot infested bathroom.

Halloween Sneak Peek
There is a great pumpkin patch by our house on the way to Sonoma. We had the fantastic idea of taking pictures of Ira in his Charlie Brown costume. The day soon turned from good to bad when Colin drew the Charlie Brown curl on Ira's forehead with very PERMANENT eyeliner which did not come off for the rest of the day. To add insult to injury, only one person recognized what Ira's costume was. Here are the two "good" pictures - for the majority of the time Ira was more interested in eating straw than looking at the camera.

Fall...Finally
It is only 68 degrees today and I am thrilled. Fall is finally here. The beautiful vineyards have started to change colors and I can finally justify putting Ira in one of his highly anticipated sweaters.
No, we don't live in the jungles of Peru. It just looks like it.
Seriously, how cute are these two?

Our sweet baby...
He is scrumptious. Love him so much.
I'm obsessed with Ira in this outfit. Thank you Aunt Lucy.
Thanks to my parents Ira and I went down to San Diego for a couple of days. It was such a nice break and although we didn't take one picture we did get this little gem drawn of Ira. I think it is hilarious.

Swimming With Daddy
Unfortunately Ira seems to have inherited Colin and my lack of swimming skills. It is obvious to local Napans we are from Utah because we do not know how to backstroke or breathe correctly on a freestyle crawl. Pools were always summer hangout spots, a great place to catch up with friends, sip diet coke, and work on that oh so important tan. Like us, Ira would much rather stay on the sidelines sipping a bottle full of milk.

Chubby Babies Like Food
Ira is 17 lbs of chubbyness perfection. I need to take a picture of his legs and post it. They have no less than 3 rolls on each thigh. I'm obsessed. Our doctor recommended we start rice cereal. Although weirded out at first by the texture, at the end he was grabbing the spoon because we couldn't feed him fast enough.

$485
$485. That is how much a rolling, right-turn, red light ticket costs in the great state of California. Apparently they are trying to make up for their failing economy and lack of state money by over-enforcing, and making citizens over-pay for their traffic citations. When I got the ticket in the mail, I marched right into the Napa Traffic Court, hoping to become some sort of revolutionary figure, and gave the poor 16 year old secretary a piece of my mind. I told her I was a new mom who no longer was employed and how ridiculous it was for her to think that in these economic times someone in my situation could pay this sort of fine. She told me the best she could do was give me a 2 week extension to get my money together. Thank you.

Happy b-day blogger
Dear Kathy-
Happy 24th doll!
I want you to know that I love you so much. I appreciate who you are, your personality, patience & your love. You are a great example to Ira & I & everyone around you.
You do so much everyday that I sometimes don’t even see. I want to say thank you for all that you do for our family.
Thank you for your calmness & for your sincerity. I have always felt so comfortable around you & can talk to you about whatever is going on.
I’m proud of you for all that you have accomplished. I’m proud of you as a mom. Ira could not be in better hands & I could not have a better companion.
I love you.
Colin

Tres Meses
Our little monkey is three months old! He is so fun and showing more personality everyday. Every morning we are awoken by sweet coos and squeals. When I walk into his room I am greeted by the biggest smile and a look that says, "hi mom, look how much fun I'm having all by myself in my crib."
To celebrate his 3 month birthday, Ira screamed for 3 straight hours at church. Someone asked if maybe Ira's a baptist rather than a Mormon, I guess we'll have to see.

Napa Visitors
One of my best friends from High School came and visited this past week, Caitlin McNally Olsen. I miss her so much and was so excited for her to come for a couple of days. We had a fabulous time together. Highlights of the trip include mostly eating and shopping (something Caitlin and I have always had a passion doing together).
In other BIG news...Colin buzzed his hair. I have to say I was a little nervous about it but I think he looks so handsome.

Ira's Blessing Day
Last week we flew to Utah to have Ira blessed. It was one of the most special days of my life. Colin gave Ira a wonderful blessing. Other than a few microphone malfunctions and a minor meltdown mid-blessing everything went perfect. We were lucky to have so many family members and friends come and support our sweet little guy.

Intro
I finally did it! I finally started a blog. After a lot of consideration, and I mean a lot of consideration I decided to take the plunge into the blososphere. Here is a quick update on our lives. Colin and I got married almost two years ago and have since moved to Napa, California where Colin is working as a construction estimator. We just had our baby Ira about two and a half months ago and are loving being parents to this sweet boy.
