Disgusting or Cute?

I have always told Colin, the second we find a rodent in our house we will either move immediately or call an exterminator to "take care of" the problem. I can not physically handle the thought of sharing my home with vermin. This past week as I sat down to finally catch up on the biggest loser I saw something hopping on our wood floors. Paralyzed by fear I called to Colin to find out what sort of creature had welcomed itself into our house. Colin grabbed a pot scooped up the amphibian and flung him out the front door. This has since happened two other times this week.   Definitely disgusting.

Small Update

I know, it has been forever since I have blogged.  I need/want to be better at updating more regularly.  We have been so busy, and the thought of catching up on the last few months is a little overwhelming.  Our little house remodel is almost done (and I will post pictures soon), my sweet baby Ira is not so much a baby anymore, and everything else is going so well for us.  We truly are so lucky.

Ira is both mine and Colin's pride and joy.  He is everything to us.  He is a part of us, and makes our little family feel like a family.  He is army crawling all over the place and is learning all the big boy things, like how to throw amazing tantrums and how to fake laugh.  That little boy will fake laugh for hours.  His smile has turned into the hammyiest thing you have ever seen, showing off his 4 teeth.  He will wave to anyone and everyone, it looks more like a hand flopping, but is the cutest thing.

Today is also Colin's birthday.  I appreciate him so much.  He is such a wonderful husband and dad.  Ira just reaches for him everytime he sees him, practically jumping out of my arms.  I am amazed at how he can come home from a sometimes 12 hour workday and still have energy to play with Ira, talk with me, and hang curtain rods.

It's Officially Official

Finally, after three months of being in escrow, we are the proud owners of our first home in Napa Valley.  There is a lot of work to be done.  After a weekend of literal blood, sweat, and tears, about 67 trips to home depot, and much help from great friends and my sweet parents we are well on our way.  First things first, completely gutting and redoing this hideously ugly, dry-rot infested bathroom.

Halloween Sneak Peek

There is a great pumpkin patch by our house on the way to Sonoma.  We had the fantastic idea of taking  pictures of Ira in his Charlie Brown costume.  The day soon turned from good to bad when Colin drew the Charlie Brown curl on Ira's forehead with very PERMANENT eyeliner which did not come off for the rest of the day. To add insult to injury, only one person recognized what Ira's costume was. Here are the two "good" pictures - for the majority of the time Ira was more interested in eating straw than looking at the camera.

6 months

Words cannot describe the love we have for this little baby.
